Prosthetic Nail Techniques

Prosthetic nail is a procedure performed on broken or cracked natural nails, on people with nail biting habits or nail ejaculation, to give an aesthetic appearance instead of yellowed old nails.

The prosthetic nails obtained after the procedures lasting between 45 minutes and 2 hours can be used for a long time if they are well maintained.

Prosthetic nail application can be done in 3 different ways with different techniques and materials.

These are acrylic system, dipping system and gel systems.

Acrylic System: Acrylic pink powder consists of powder (polymer) and liquid (monomer). The mixture of these two is applied to the nail surface, dried under light in ultraviolet devices and hardened. It is 80 times more durable than normal nails. Acrylic has a very pungent odor, but it is a healthy material because it does not contain germs.

Dipping System: It is based on the application of specially produced false nails called tip to the nail with the help of glue and acrylic powder. The liquid used in the Acrylic System technique is not used in this technique.

Gel System: Prosthetic nails obtained as a result of hardening of a liquid mixture in gel structure applied on the space behind the prosthesis attached to the tip of the nail under light by means of ultraviolet dryer devices are called gel system. It is the most common prosthetic nail technique.
